A luxurious Summer Getaway at Royalton Park Avenue

Royalton Park Ave Rooftop Pool

#Feelroyal with Royalton Park Avenue

Midtown views with downtown vibes, the Royalton Park Avenue is the newest and coolest addition to Midtown. After the recent closure of the Gansevoort, the trendy Park Avenue hotel has been reopened under a fresh new name and a modern luxurious feel.

Located in the heart of Midtown East, the NoMad location is perfectly situated, close to many of Manhattan’s top attractions. Steps away from the Flatiron Building, 5th Avenue shopping and the Empire State Building, the Royalton Park Avenue is the perfect location for a fun weekend getaway in the city. The hotel caters to all guests types and during my weekend away I saw traveling families, couples and friends all enjoying their stay with the Royalton

Hotel Highlights

From the moment you enter this hotel, you are greeted by the wonderful Royalton staff who warmly welcome you for a perfect NYC stay. The lobby features a lofty open space with high ceilings and a regal finish. There are contemporary black and white designs throughout with rich pops of magenta and crimson giving the space a beautiful luxe appeal.

On the lobby floor, you will find the on-site Italian restaurant, Ristorante Asellina serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. And a level above you will find their gym and Exhale Spa.

The Rooftop

Boasting some the best views in Midtown, the Royalton rooftop is the place to be. Aside from the incredible pool, they have two rooftop lounges both serving delicious cocktails and light bites. My favorite was the Frosé (frozen rosé) which was the perfect drink to enjoy on a hot summer day after touring around the city.

The rooftop lounge next to the pool deck was typically full for Happy Hour and it was no surprise as there is no better view than the sun setting over the art-deco building views in Midtown. Being on the 18th floor of the building, the L-shaped glass terrace gave the best views of the Park &29th area.

The second rooftop, located 2 stories above the pool deck, had a fun boathouse style vibe with white all furniture and grassy green walls. The Sundeck is full of sunshine and serves up panoramic views in all directions of Manhattan. Perfect for watching the sunset over the West of the city.

The Pool

Hands down the best pool in Midtown! This pool has incredible views of the Empire State Building and one of the best vibes you will find in this area. Open only hotel guests, this pool is certainly a hot spot in the city drawing guests who just wish to access the pool.

The deck opens at 7 am and immediately begins to fill up as guests come to lay out in the morning sun. Fortunately, there is plenty of comfortable seating with both loungers and couches in the sun and in the shade. The decor is fresh and bright with pops of yellow and green paired with the magnificent city skyline as the backdrop.

If you are staying here for a weekend summer getaway and intent to spend some time at the pool, just make sure to get there early as it begins to fill up fast.

The Suite

This suite was HUGE, definitely one of the largest I have stayed in, in all of my Manhattan stays. I stayed in the Manhattan Suite (aptly named) and the room was tastefully decorated with lofty ceilings and an incredible city terrace with double entrance.

The combined square footage of the inside and outside areas was well over 1400 Sq Ft.

The suite has a separate bedroom from the living space with a king size bed and it comes with an extra pull out bed comfortable enough to host 2 additional guests. In addition to the large space, it also features a small kitchenette equipped with all the fixtures and dishes necessary for dining in. I particularly liked having the fridge and microwave in the suite, because it meant I could have NYC pizza on-demand whenever I wished!

Now the terrace was my favorite part. With two doors for entry, it was a huge fully furnished space with loungers, sofas and a four-person dining table. It was the perfect space for enjoying the views and balmy summer weather and we did just that. On two occasions during our stay, we had ordered pizza from a nearby pizzeria just for the purpose of enjoying the wonderful terrace.

The Manhattan Suite is definitely the perfect room for traveling families, a group of friends or just a couple who would like to spoil themselves with a spacious suite during their NYC stay. (check out a tour of the room and hotel amenities here)
